Jeffrey C. Howard, Senior Consultant

Jeffrey Howard serves as Senior Consultant for GHG providing strategic direction and vision for clients in the area of media relations, media training, sports public relations and internal communications. Currently, Howard is the Executive Director of Alumni Relations for the University of Denver.

Prior to this role, Howard directed the Education and Outreach, Community Relations and Career Services departments at the United States Olympic Committee. Key initiatives under his management included the Olympic Ambassador Program, which was a concerted effort to ensure America’s Olympians and Paralympians understood their role as ambassadors for the United States before, during and after the Beijing Games; Managing Victory, which helps Olympians capitalize on national and international media exposure the 24 hours after winning an Olympic medal; and, in partnership with the Ad Council, Howard aided in the development of the “don’t be an * (asterisk)” campaign, which focuses on the eradication of teen steroid use. Howard was also a key member of the Communications Division leadership team, helping provide strategic direction on various United States Olympic Committee programs and initiatives.

Howard previously held a senior media relations position within athletics at the University of Denver during its transition to Division I and also went on to work in a senior public and media relations post at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Early in his career, he worked as a member of the Denver Broncos communications team and as the sports producer for KWGN-TV in Denver.

Howard received his undergraduate degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a television broadcasting emphasis and his master’s degree from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (Lyon, France) in sports management.
