The Challenge

When the Black Resilience in Colorado (BRIC) Fund was established, it was building more than a new philanthropic organization. It was creating a community-centered platform dedicated to investing in Black-led and Black-serving nonprofit organizations across Colorado.

As an emerging fund, BRIC needed a distinctive brand identity and communications infrastructure that could clearly articulate its mission, reflect the communities it serves, and build credibility with nonprofit leaders, philanthropic partners, donors and community stakeholders.

The challenge was to create a brand that felt authentic and rooted in community, while providing the flexibility to evolve alongside a growing organization.

GHG Approach

GHG partnered with BRIC from its early stages to build a cohesive brand and communications foundation designed for long-term growth.

The work began with the development of BRIC’s visual identity, including its logo system and brand elements, along with the creation of a website that established a strong digital home for the organization.

GHG also helped shape messaging and storytelling frameworks that communicated not only what BRIC funds, but why its approach to philanthropy and investment in Black-led organizations matters.

As BRIC grew, GHG expanded the brand across communications channels and audience touchpoints — from website, social media and email to reports, leadership initiatives, campaigns and events.

Rather than treating branding as a one-time design exercise, GHG has continued to steward and evolve the brand alongside BRIC, creating consistency while allowing its identity and communications to reflect the organization’s expanding reach, leadership and impact.
