The Challenge
As Urban Land Conservancy (ULC) approached its 20th anniversary, the organization needed to elevate its visibility, clarify its evolving mission, and effectively communicate its long-term impact across metro Denver. With a new strategic plan in place, there was also a need to align messaging across platforms and materials while engaging diverse community stakeholders. Additionally, ULC sought to expand its storytelling capacity to better highlight its role in preserving affordable housing and supporting nonprofits. The challenge was to create a cohesive, compelling narrative that honored its legacy while positioning the organization for future growth and deeper community engagement.
GHG Approach
The Gomez Howard Group developed and executed a comprehensive communications campaign centered on ULC’s 20th anniversary. This included crafting updated messaging aligned with the organization’s strategic priorities and creating a visually compelling impact report to showcase two decades of progress. The team designed and managed social media content to amplify key milestones and stories, ensuring consistency in tone and messaging.
Beyond the anniversary campaign, GHG supported the development of a forward-looking communications plan and a “community engagement playbook” to guide ULC’s outreach efforts in 2024 and beyond. The team also prioritized earned media, training ULC leadership on media interviews and then securing coverage that highlighted ULC’s innovative work. In addition, GHG helped ULC launch a brand journalism initiative to proactively tell stories that resonated with stakeholders, partners and the broader community.
