The Challenge

The Black Resilience in Colorado (BRIC) Fund sought to elevate awareness of its mission, deepen engagement across digital platforms, and strengthen its position as a trusted voice within Colorado’s Black communities and philanthropic landscape.

A key priority was amplifying culturally relevant stories that reflected the history, leadership and lived experiences of Black communities across Colorado. This included elevating the history and legacy of Denver’s Five Points neighborhood while creating opportunities to highlight BRIC’s leadership, grantees and community impact.

At the same time, BRIC wanted its communications efforts to translate into measurable growth in visibility, website traffic, email performance and social media engagement — building stronger connections with existing audiences while reaching new ones.

GHG Approach

GHG implemented an integrated communications strategy centered on community-rooted storytelling, media relations and digital engagement.

The team identified and developed compelling narratives and connected them with media opportunities that could reach audiences well beyond BRIC’s existing channels. This included securing a multi-part television feature exploring the history and legacy of Denver’s Five Points neighborhood.

GHG simultaneously strengthened BRIC’s owned communications platforms by developing website and blog content, elevating priority information such as grant opportunities and maintaining a consistent storytelling cadence.

Email marketing incorporated targeted messaging and audience segmentation, while social media strategy prioritized community stories, organizational impact and leadership visibility. Video became an important engagement tool, expanding the reach of BRIC’s stories across digital platforms.

Ongoing performance tracking allowed GHG to refine content and communications strategies based on audience behavior and engagement.
