The Challenge
The Black Resilience in Colorado (BRIC) Fund’s fifth anniversary represented an important milestone: five years of investing in Black-led and Black-serving organizations and strengthening Colorado’s Black nonprofit ecosystem. The anniversary presented an opportunity to do more than commemorate the organization’s history. BRIC wanted to create an experience that celebrated the people and communities behind its impact, reinforced its position as a leader in equity-centered philanthropy, and built momentum for its next chapter. The challenge was to translate five years of growth, relationships and community investment into a cohesive event and communications experience that felt celebratory, culturally resonant and unmistakably BRIC.
GHG Approach
GHG partnered with BRIC to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for its fifth anniversary celebration, bringing together event planning, creative direction, storytelling, communications and guest experience.
Centered around the theme “Rooted, Ready, Relentless,” the celebration honored BRIC’s history and the resilience of Colorado’s Black communities while looking toward the organization’s future.
GHG supported the event from strategy through execution, including event concept development, program planning, messaging, creative assets, promotional communications, guest and talent coordination, production support and run-of-show management.
The celebration featured actor and producer Anthony Anderson and filmmaker Dallas Jackson, alongside BRIC leaders, grantees, community partners and supporters. Throughout the experience, storytelling and program elements highlighted BRIC’s impact while keeping the community at the center of the celebration.
GHG also integrated communications before, during and after the event to extend the anniversary beyond a single evening and reinforce BRIC’s broader story of investment, leadership and Black resilience.
