Gerri Gomez Howard

 About Gerri

With more than two decades of experience in broadcast media – focusing on community relations, cause marketing, and multi-platform media campaigns – GHG’s CEO, Gerri Gomez Howard, enjoyed an 18-year career in television – working for KCNC-TV – a CBS owned and operated station in Denver, Colorado.  In her role as Manager of Community Affairs, and later as a Cause Marketing Business Development Specialist, Gerri increased the visibility of important social issues through sponsor-supported advertising campaigns.  She was recognized with a regional Emmy award for the “Making the Grade” education campaign and was nominated for a regional Emmy award as Executive Producer for the public affairs program, “Mosaic.”

 

As an established member of the media and the community-at-large, Gerri volunteers her time and currently serves on the board for Hope Center and the Governor’s Residence Preservation Fund.  She was recently appointed by the Governor to serve on the Early Childhood Leadership Commission.  Gerri is also on the Advisory Board for Shades of Blue and an Honorary Trustee for the Women’s Foundation of Colorado.  She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the LINKS, Colorado Association of Black Journalists, and the Jack and Jill South Suburban Denver Chapter.  Also, Gerri was part of the “best class ever” for the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation in 1993.

 

Gerri received her undergraduate degree in communications from Syracuse University and earned a Master's in Applied Communications from the University of Denver.
